My Thoughts
Growing up, I had parents who exposed me to the world of second-hand shopping through garage sales, auctions, and thrift stores. To this day, I still try to buy used items before I purchase a newer item. In the current economy, shopping at thrift stores is both sensible AND environmentally-friendly. Why buy new clothes that probably took many hours of machine power (and thus pollution) to make, when you can reuse clothes and reduce your carbon footprint? You are also saving these items from going into landfills! Not only can you buy clothes at thrift stores, but you can also buy furniture, books, music, dishes, and appliances!

Great post Lauren! It's always nice to be on the look out for second hand stores... Especially for furniture too! :)
Excellent! Thanks Lauren! I'm always on the lookout for a good thrift store. My grandma used to volunteer at the Treasure Haus as a clothes-sorter and I would always go along when I was a little kid and get to pick out clothes that I wanted! (Speaking of New Ulm things, I appreciated your comment about Kraft and 3M on my article review - it's nice to be able to talk about the town and have someone else know what we mean!)
good post lauren. It does make sense to go out and look at second hand stores. It saves a lot of money and as you mentioned its good on the environment!
My roommate is obsessed with Goodwill so a lot of stuff in my cute little house is second hand. Good idea to post about it and great idea to tell them the stores to look for;) Thanks for the post Lauren!
